MEET THE CLIENT
Gourmetory is a professional food publication run by Alicia — a passionate chef-blogger who began her culinary journey in her grandmother’s kitchen. The blog covers a rich recipe library spanning Baking, Brunch, Seafood, Main Dishes, Side Dishes and Desserts — browsable by both category and ingredient, with smart navigation for cooking methods like Air Fryer, Slow Cooker and 30-Minute Meals.
When they came to Amod Khan Design, Gourmetory had impressive content volume, a clear gourmet brand voice and media features in Bon Appétit, Taste of Home, Midwest Living, Saveur and Edible Communities — but needed a custom WordPress food blog that matched the premium, publication-grade authority the brand had already earned.
THE CHALLENGE
Gourmetory had built genuine food media credibility — featured in Bon Appétit and Taste of Home — but the website needed a design infrastructure that could present hundreds of recipes in a way that was both visually stunning and functionally excellent. With multiple recipe categories, ingredient tags and cooking method filters, the navigation architecture needed to be sophisticated enough to serve both casual browsers and serious cooks looking for something specific.
For a gourmet food blog with media-level authority, the design also needed to communicate prestige immediately — the kind of homepage that makes a first-time visitor think “this is a serious food publication” before they read a single recipe. A generic WordPress template simply couldn’t carry that weight.
